British American Tobacco DBS has an exciting opportunity for a Data & Analytics Regional Manager in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia


The Regional Manager for Data & Analytics drives the delivery, adoption, and ongoing improvement of data insights and analytical solutions in the APMEA region.  The role connects business collaborators, market teams, regional functions, and global D&A teams. It ensures data-driven decision-making, successful product implementation, and commercial impact. The position leads regional analytics initiatives, project execution, leads collaborator engagement, and ensures alignment with enterprise data, governance, and technology strategies.

 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of regional Data Science and Analytics solutions and initiatives across APMEA markets, including defining product roadmaps, business requirements, implementation plans, success metrics, and key business outcomes.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams comprising Business Analysts, Data Engineers, Data Scientists, Solution Architects, Product Owners, and market collaborators to ensure successful execution. Serve as the primary liaison between regional business functions, markets, and global Data & Analytics teams, driving alignment across Commercial, Operations, Finance, Digital, IDT, and Technology functions.
  • Translate business challenges into data-driven solutions and analytics opportunities, while partnering with markets to identify, prioritize, and implement high-value use cases that deliver measurable business impact.
  • Drive adoption and utilization of analytics products through effective communication, business enablement, demonstrations, training sessions, and collaborator engagement initiatives. Supervise organizational impact, business outcomes, user adoption, and product efficiency across the region to measure success and support continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with BAT data governance, security, regulatory, and access management standards, while promoting data quality, consistency, standardization, and reusability across regional programs to strengthen governance and operational efficiency.
  • Manage risks, dependencies, delivery obstacles, and resource assumptions to ensure the timely and effective execution of regional initiatives, delivering Data & Analytics products and programs aligned with APMEA priorities.
  • Drive increased adoption and usage of analytics solutions across markets and functional teams. Encourage strong partner happiness, engagement, and alignment. Ensure clear value realization through measurable business and performance improvements. 
  • Provide leadership, direction, coaching, and support to project teams and regional squads, fostering collaboration, accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement. Build Data & Analytics capabilities by promoting guidelines in analytics, visualization, automation, AI, data governance, and product management, while communicating progress, risks, dependencies, business impact, and key decisions to senior collaborators and governance forums  

 

What are we looking for?  

  • Proven expertise in Data & Analytics, Business Intelligence, Digital Transformation, Product Ownership, or related areas; experience handling regional or global analytics programs in matrixed, multinational environments.
  • Strong understanding of data platforms, BI tools, cloud technologies, analytics frameworks, and data governance principles; ability to translate business objectives into product roadmaps, analytics use cases, and delivery plans.
  • Practical experience with data visualization, storytelling, performance measurement, adoption tracking, and value realization; strong project/program management capability, including achievement tracking, risk management, prioritization, and dependency management.
